Classroom Routines (Procedimientos)

Morning Arrival

If you are dropping off your child in the morning, here is our arrival plan:
  1. Hang up coat and backpack.
  2. Wash hands.
  3. Return blue folders (when applicable).
  4. Choose lunch and snack.
  5. Table Activity/Answer Question of the Day

Please label and write your child's name on all of her/his possessions.

Folders

Folders are sent home every Thursday. Please make sure to check your child's folder, remove the papers and return it the next day.

Snack

We have a snack break every morning at 9:00 am. Make sure to include silverware and a napkin with the snack. When you send a snack and a lunch, please separate and/or label the two so your child knows which is her/his snack and her/his lunch. Trying to figure out which is which sometimes poses a challenge for the teacher.

Specials

Mondays: Library (Biblioteca) with Mrs. Burroughs
Tuesdays: Music (Música) with Mrs. Bolio-Gallaspie
Wednesdays and Fridays: P.E. (Deportes) with Mr. Steinman
Thursdays: Art (Arte) with Mr. VanAllen

Please send your child with sneakers on Wednesdays and Fridays to be ready for P.E.

Rest/Quiet Time

After lunch, we have a period of quiet time. During this time, soft music is played and our kindergartners choose a book to read by themselves.

Birthdays

We love to celebrate birthdays in our classroom. I want to share with you ways you can help us celebrate your child’s birthday. Please have him or her make a timeline of your child’s life in the form of a poster to share with the rest of the class during that day. The poster can be of any size. Include pictures and special moments and milestones of your child’s life. We will take the last 15 minutes of our day to celebrate and sing happy birthday. Your child will also get to wear a birthday crown all day.
For safety reason reasons, cupcakes and other treats are not allowed in school.

Other Important Information:

Please label and write your child's name in all of her/his possessions.
